BRISC undertakes to initiate/organise projects of value to the recording community in Scotland. These initiatives are listed below:

Publications

BRISC has commissioned the publication of several books:

• Source Book - Listing contact details for all flora and fauna organisations
• Directory of Scottish Natural History Societies

BRISC has also endorsed the publication of Biodiversity Data Needs for Local Authorities and National Park Authorities (launched on 15th November 2006) although it refers strictly to the situation in England, it embodies principles that BRISC considers relevant to the Scottish situation.
